Best Bank wanted to develop an app for their mobile banking services as well as for managing Stocks and Investments.
My role: UX, UI & Visual Design
The structure and number of functionalities required was huge, and it took a lot of analysis to make sure we had the best first approach, even though this was just a pitch. This was the structure we came up with.
Throughout the process, given the broadness of functionalities, we ended up recommending that this app was divided in at least two: one directed to standard bank customers, who want to perform their daily tasks, and check their savings and accounts; and another one directed to more advanced users who make serious investments and require more detailed information about markets and investment opportunities.
Below you can see the welcome screen which featured the app's main functionalities. The user might not yet be a client, so it is important to highlight the advantages of being a Best client: mainly being able to do almost everything online. This is extremely important since this is a bank that has very few branches.
The non-client dashboard featured some highlights and comunication from the bank, as well as some services available to all, even non-clients, that set this bank apart from it's competition. It also features a link to an account creating page, making it easy as pie to become a Best client.
After sign-in we opted for having a customizable dashboard page for the user to pin his most used functionalities and have a global view of what matters to him. Assets and Accounts overview, latest operations, balance graphs to access evolution, expenses summary, investment suggestions, account manager speed dial were some of the 'pinnable' content examples we defined. This is like home, so you should be able to make yours. Customization is important because a bank deals with broadly different segments of customers, and each one has its focus on different sets of functionality.
Besides navigating from the dash board the user can also use a side menu, accessible from all first-level screens within the app. We grouped functionalities in menu sections, to make it easier to scan.
BEST TRADING PRO
This tool was directed to more advanced users who use their phone for investing in stocks and funds. Besides consulting his portfolio, the user can also use the app to buy or sell stock.
